We’ve got some BIG news! Hosts for Humanity was awarded a $200,000 grant through the Alicia and Yaya Foundation. These funds will dramatically increase our ability to provide housing for families traveling for medical care.
This gift is particularly meaningful as we celebrate our second “birthday” of service. Two years ago today we hosted our first family, who came all the way from Minnesota for medical care here in Baltimore. Since then, we’ve housed 88 people for 1,299 days, saving families $111,000 on housing.
Our work is increasing access to life-saving medical care; it matters and makes a difference to the families we serve. Housing is healthcare. Social connectivity is healthcare. Thanks for following along on our journey of collective compassion. – JO
